Hokkaido in Summer Travel blog 2

We had already discussed the previous day that we should go to the Okurayama Ski Jump. I haven't been to Mt Moiwa myself to see the city view however J has been there. We also wanted to visit Maruyama Park which I actually had already been thinking of going the previous trip.
We took a train to Maruyama Park station and there were sufficient signs showing how to walk to Maruyama Park.

When we got to the park, we saw that there were having a family day for pre school kids and spent some time watching the fun!

A further walk up, you will reach the Hokkaido Shrine.

We went on a sat so there were many people visiting the Shrine and there was a Shinto wedding ongoing! I've seen the dedication of the young children before but this was my first witnessing of a Shinto wedding. Another interesting note is how the parents were bringing the babies in white christening gowns to get dedicated at a shinto shrine!

As we proceeded, we came across a 六花亭 store and they were selling freshly made mochi wrapped with red bean paste! Yummy!
I also bought some stuff from there and incidentally they were giving out some free sesames balls which I found they sell at the main stores for 120Yen!!

Following google maps, we thought we would hike a bit to the ski jump. Prob may have been a better idea to take the bus but between us we were able to navi there and even tresspassed on some private gardens!

What was sustaining us was the thought of the bbq lamb which we had read about.. and boy was it good!

We decided that we would order even more lamb since it was so good!!

Finally after we had satisfied our tummies after all that walking. We got on with the main event.

The ski lift ticket costs 500 Yen ( 600 Yen if you include the visit to the museum on site)
